GIOSTAR Mexico Frequent Ask Questions

When researching for stem cell therapy providers it’s very important that you know what you are getting. Here are our most frequently asked questions.

How would my protocol be?

Stem cell therapy is personalized, there is not a single protocol for every patient with a specific disease. We develop individual treatment plans for each patient based on many factors that sets them apart, factors such as their medical condition, overall health, lifestyle habits, and disease evolution.

The first step for creating your personalized protocol is to ask for your medical records. Once our medical team reviews them, we will be able to determine the process of your first stem cell application.

What type of stem cells are used?

We use human adipose-derived stem cells. We extract a small sample of fat tissue containing stem cells, either from the patient's own body or from young and healthy donors. We have a very selective process and make sure the donors are pathology free.

Where do stem cells come from and how do I know they are safe?

We work directly with Instituto de Terapia Celular (ITC) in Guadalajara, Mexico. This is a “class 1,000” laboratory, which is a top classification in Mexico. Besides this, ITC has all the necessary license and permits requested by Mexican institutions to legally store and work with stem cells.

All stem cells come from fat tissue extracted. This fat tissue is sent to the lab where it is processed to separate the stem cells contained in it. Once only stem cells are obtained, they are cleaned and cultivated into millions. The cells are then stored in an -100C freezer with no chemicals so they can be pure. This freezer allows the cells to be stored up to 25 years.

Where does the treatment take place?

Our research team is located in San Diego, CA. They analyze each patients’ case to case and develop the protocol, however, stem cell application is done in Mexico. We have three different and convenient locations, our first clinic at Los Algodones, Baja California, Mexico, border with Yuma, Arizona, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, and our new premium facilities at the Cancun Riviera, to which there are more than 100 direct (non-stop) flights from the U.S.

What is the price for stem cell therapy?

There is no fixed price in stem cell therapy. We must evaluate each patients’ case and provide a price, based on how many stem cell infusions are recommended for the patient, application method and destination. By sharing your medical records with our patient coordinators, we will be able to determine the cost of your treatment.

What risks are involved?
Regulated and professional stem cell therapy do not involve risks for the patient. Our protocols use only human stem cells and, up to date, we’ve never had a patient with a negative reaction to the therapy.
